Chapter 8 - Marriage and Domestic Violence/Abuse

CHAPTER EIGHT-Marriage And Domestic Violence/Abuse

Domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone regardless of race, age, religion, or gender. Do you know that abuse has no respect for persons? I’m not addressing the marriage chapter traditionally. The subject of marriage for the believer is a book all by itself. God has anointed men and women in the Body of Christ to write and speak about marriage. When your relationship with your spouse or anyone else is at a standstill for one reason or another, do you know what to do? Often, we come across situations in life that leave us poorly treated by the ones we love and care for the most. Putting all things into perspective, if you are in a violent relationship, please seek help and do not stay.

What is Domestic Violence/Abuse?
A pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that one partner uses to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner.  Domestic violence can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological actions that influence another person. This includes any behaviors that intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, frighten, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, or wound someone.
